My experience with this company was unprofessional, disorganized, … Read more and extremely disappointing. I hired them for my son's prom send-off and paid in full, yet the service I received was far below acceptable standards. I have yet to receive what I paid for.
The person who identified himself as the owner, Dennis, was attentive until he received my deposit. Before paying, I clearly explained that my son's colors were rose gold and silver and specifically asked whether those colors could be accommodated for the backdrop. I was assured they could.
Once the deposit was paid, communication became a major issue. His demenor was ghetto & rude. Calls were ignored, messages went unanswered, and when I was finally able to reach Dennis, I was repeatedly told how busy he was with weddings and proms. It became obvious that my event was not a priority. He refused to discuss details until the week of the event, despite my attempts to plan well in advance. He takes this approach to prey on your emotions and have you in a tight spot.
Our agreement was that he would contact me the Friday before the event. He never did. I wasn't able to speak with him until Monday—just four days before my son's prom. At that point, he began suggesting that the colors I had requested might not be available and that I may have to settle for something more basic.
The night before the event, Dennis confirmed that setup would begin at 6:00 a.m. on prom day. Wanting to ensure everything was on schedule, I called around 5:00 a.m. and followed up with a text. About an hour later, I received a call stating that his driver—not him—was running behind schedule.
HE HAD US WAITING 5 HOURS BEFORE DRIVER SHOWED UP!
When the driver finally arrived, she appeared under the influence, unprepared, had a poor attitude, and immediately began making excuses about the weather and the fact that she had other deliveries to make. She lacked the proper equipment to install the backdrop, had to stand on chairs, and asked us to provide ropes and other items needed for setup. To top it off, she kept yelling and cursing at the young man who accompanied her.
Things became even worse when she grew frustrated and attempted to take the backdrop back without installing it. I was devastated because this was my son's special day, and all of this was happening just hours before his prom send-off.
Rather than ensuring the job was completed, Dennis allowed his employee to leave without finishing the setup. He later stated that I would not be charged for the backdrop since it was not installed. I ultimately had to contact another event professional to walk me through designing and assembling the backdrop on my own. When they came back to pick up the decor and seen I semi-successfully made it work, he changed his position and demanded payment for it. In the end, I paid for services that I largely had to perform myself.
This entire experience caused unnecessary stress during what should have been one of the most memorable and joyful occasions of my son's life. The entire reason I hired a professional was to eliminate the stress and allow my family to enjoy the day. Instead, this company created problem after problem, leaving me scrambling to save an event that I had paid them to handle.
Despite the obstacles, broken promises, and lack of professionalism this company imposed upon us, we were ultimately able to pull the event together. However, no customer should have to endure what we experienced. Based on my experience, I would never recommend this company to anyone seeking reliable event services.
I believe honesty, professionalism, and accountability matter in business. Unfortunately, I did not receive any of those qualities here. -
